Melnūdens is a brand born out of passion and one which is an extensive example of what zero to one means. From concept to branding, to website and digital infrastructure, Melnūdens paved the way for what a complete setup looks like, and in turn, when putting the content front and center how to keep that passion visible through each step of the way.

Interaction 

As a specialty coffee brand, interaction is key for the consumer to experience every step of the way. This was done through the physical object of the packaging and its life after consumption, all the way down to educational aspects that were included in the packaging for those new to the specialty coffee world. The digital experience of Melnūdens focussed on immersing the consumers in the origin story as if they were sipping on the coffee and tasting every unique flavor. 



Design

The Melnūdens design focussed on bringing coffee and passion for coffee center stage while bringing form closer to function. From the physical to the digital, each design choice was made to amplify the simplicity and storytelling of this coffee bean. It was important to keep the noise to a minimum for consumers to find joy in not only the taste of the coffee but the act of making it and coveting it as well. For example, instead of a bag, the coffee is in cylindrical containers. This design enables easier recycling, makes pouring easier and elevates the aesthetic of any coffee corner. 



Direction

As Melnūdens is a new specialty coffee brand, the direction focuses on finding something new to add to the specialty coffee world and gaining trust amongst coffee aficionados and new specialty coffee drinkers alike. This was done through a unique pre-order system which allowed consumers to dive deep into what specialty coffee is and specifically the Melnūdens story. Exciting the consumers step by step on the journey from ordering, all the way to coffee in their cup and packaging on the shelf.
